Inlet, oil/linen, 24"x36"
This painting started as a sketch which became a ballpoint pen drawing in the My Tokaido series. I did a few small oil paintings and then this large one which I thought was OK. It hung up in a back room of the house until several people admired it and I finally saw what needed to be done. I touched up some of the areas I wasn't crazy about in 2004 and thought it was quite a nice painting. Shortly after that it went off to then US Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton's Washington D.C. office where it hung for almost 5 years on loan until her move to the Department of State.
